Cookie cutters are cutters made to cut cookie dough. They come in all shapes and sizes. The cookie cutter that I saw that made a mark in my memory was the number cookie cutter set I saw that was priced for less than fifteen dollars. It had all the numbers from zero to nine. I instantly imagined that I could market those types of cookies in my bakery.

They are unique yet practical. Numbers are all around us everyday. They mark our streets, without them I couldn’t even call you on your cellphone, or even our ages. They are all constructed together. And we need numbers through out our lives. So I decided to try it out in the store. I bought the number cookie cutters from the shop and went straight to the bakery.

I went on and tried the number cookie cutters. Luckily, we had a batch of ready-made dough in the pantry. Excited I went on and made cookies with those shapes. To make the cookies more interesting and enticing I frosted them with candy colors. Cotton candy blue and pink, candy green and also I had left over red frosting from Valentines Day that was just 3 days ago. I hurriedly carried the cookies to our display rack for display purposes. I was excited to see if it would work out or be a flop.

After 30 minutes here comes a customer asking how much they would be. I said they’re a dollar each. He bought a red number 4 and a red number 5. Curious I asked what this was for he said for my wife. Then he also bought a cake for her. He was planning to put the numbers on top of the cake for decoration. I though how sweet that would be for my husband to surprise me with a birthday cake! If I did not have those number cookies he would have any design on the cake. After a trial period of 2 weeks I saw that the number cookies were a great success. Now I am mass producing them for all kinds of occasions.
